Soulful Coaching and Conversation:
Spiritual Life Coaching
Spiritual life coaching helps individuals change their lives by working on a deeper level. What we believe about “Why we are here on the planet?” and “What is the meaning of life?” influences how we lead our lives. Through spiritual life coaching, one comes to understand the idea that: “We are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience” (Pierre Teilhard de Chardin).
If you are feeling stuck, unsure about your future, want to change directions, or just feel like you could use some spiritual guidance and support, Rabbi Amy can help serve as your spiritual life coach. Using various modalities, Rabbi Amy will help you find your own inner wisdom to make the changes that you would like. She has studied various faith traditions, meditation practices, counseling, and energy work to help facilitate your process. Rabbi Amy’s goal is to help individuals find inner peace, a sense of purpose, and deep connection to all life, in a non-judgmental and confidential manner.
Spiritual Direction
In our hectic society, we spend much of our time plugged in or connected to our digital devices yet, ironically, we often do not feel any more connected. In fact, technology has made us busier, separate, and stressed. Spiritual Direction provides a way to re-connect to our inner GPS through mindfulness and contemplative conversations. By working with an experienced and thoughtful mentor, individuals can address the following topics and more:
❊ Integrating spirituality into everyday life—relationships, parenting, and the workplace
❊ Exploring something that feels missing in your life
❊ Doubting the existence of God
❊ Wishing to explore or share your experience of God and/or the spiritual realm
❊ Exploring where God is in times of loss, struggle, and pain
❊ Fostering support during life transitions such as poor health, death, dying, and divorce
❊ Addressing the loss/lack of connection and/or to spiritual practice in your life
Rabbi Amy is able to offer one on one sessions in person and on-line.
Group Spiritual Direction
This process involves a small group gathering of four to five individuals who choose to meet every four to five weeks and assist each other in the awareness of God in all of life. Individuals support one another through active listening, silence, contemplation, and reflection.
According to The Shalem Pamphlet on Group Spiritual Direction by Rose Mary Dougherty. Members must agree to:
❊ commit themselves to an honest relationship with God
❊ to participate wholeheartedly in the group process through prayerful listening and response
❊ to open their spiritual journeys for consideration by others
One key component to this process is a deep level of trust amongst participants. This trust is grounded in trust of the Divine unfolding for each individual and for the collective. Individuals who are looking for an authentic, introspective, and supportive group experience might find Group Spiritual Direction fills this desire.
Rabbi Amy serves as a facilitator of group spiritual direction circles. If you have people with whom you would like to explore this process, please contact Rabbi Amy to discuss further.

**It is important to make a distinction between these spiritual processes and therapy. Please note that they should not be seen as a substitute for psychotherapy. When you begin your work with Rabbi Amy, if she feels that what you are bringing to the conversation needs to be addressed by a therapist, she will inform you.
